Promising start of the 2020 concert season

05. February 2020

Rested and full of enthusiasm, our Esperanzas set off for South Tyrol on Saturday, February 1st, 2020. On the evening of the same day, the first concert of the year was scheduled to take place in the Bolzano concert hall. Two new faces could be seen in the ranks of the ensemble that evening. Mykhaylo Dukhnych on the violoncello and Samuel Ortega Sanchez on the double bass seem to fit effortlessly and seamlessly into the orchestra. Together with Lech Antonio Uszynski (violin) and Zuzanna Sosnowska (violoncello), the two belong to the ranks of newcomers - all of them recipients of national and international awards, already renowned experts on their instruments and undoubtedly a valuable enrichment to our ensemble. We warmly welcome you to the Esperanzas!

The wide-ranging program - from Vardapet's "Miniatures" and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 to St Paul`s Suite by Gustav Holst and Joseph Haydn's "Farewell Symphony" to the encores by Daniel Schnyder and his adaptation of "Purple Haze" and Leroy Anderson's "Jazz Pizzicato" - made the broad repertoire and the qualities of our young artists clearly recognizable. At the center of attention was was the interpretation of Mozart's D minor piano concerto by the soloist Nuron Mukumi, who once again caused astonishment among his audience with his skillful mastery of the piano.

Eventful days are now waiting for the Esperanzas. The anniversary and final edition of the VP Bank Classic Festival (formerly FESTIVAL NEXT GENERATION) will begin in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, on Friday, February 7, 2020. The ENSEMBLE ESPERANZA has always been an integral part of the festivals program, this year with the following concerts:

  • Grand opening (Friday, February 7, 2020 at 8:00 p.m.),
  • Rotary concert (Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 8:00 p.m.),
  • ENSEMBLE ESPERANZA (Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 8:00 p.m.)
  • and finally the final gala concert (Friday, February 14, 2020 at 7 p.m.).

For our ensemble this closes a circle full of memories, since it was in Bad Ragaz where its success story started in 2015 ...

A little later in spring, we set out to complete the tetralogy with the recording of the fourth CD in Schwarzenberg, Bregenzerwald. We keep all of you up to date on all further activities of the ENSEMBLE ESPERANZA.
