Miyuko Wahr was born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1995, and received her first violin lessons at the age of three from Renate Gandras. In winter semester 2005/2006, she began studying with Professor Latica Honda-Rosenberg in the preparatory class at the University of Music Freiburg. In 2009 she moved on to the University of the Arts Berlin, where she continued to study with Professor Latica Honda-Rosenberg. Since 2014 she has been studying at the University of the Arts in Berlin with Professor Mo Yi. She also receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, and participates in the intensive music weeks on offer there.
The young violinist has won numerous prizes at the German competition for young musicians, “Jugend musiziert”, in the violin solo, chamber music and new music categories. In 2015, she won the 1st prize at the “RAMA String Competition” in Aarhus, and in 2016 she won the 3rd prize at the “Stockholm International Music Competition”.
Miyuko Wahr has taken part in a great number of orchestral and chamber music projects: In 2015, she participated in the Gustav Mahler Academy. One year later, she went on an orchestra tour through Europe with the “Orkester Norden”. She has already been invited to perform at the FESTIVAL NEXT GENERATION Bad Ragaz in Switzerland, and since 2016 she has been a member of the ENSEMBLE ESPERANZA, which is made up of scholarship holders from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein. She also plays in the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra.
